Here at HeX, we are big accessibility advocates as we believe that being able to access websites and digital services should be a given for all users, regardless of their ability.
That’s why we’ve pledged that every website that we build is accessible for people with disabilities, and this includes those with visual, hearing and mobility impairments as well as those with learning difficulties.
We’re proud to work in partnership with Welsh charitable enterprise, Shaw Trust Accessibility Services. This means we can test every website we build using Shaw Trust’s disabled website testers to provide real-life results on accessibility, straight from people with additional needs.
We’ve also been consulting with the Government Digital Service to help plan for the implementation of accessibility legislation which will affect the public sector in the UK over the next few years. For public sector bodies, making sure your website and mobile apps are accessible is no longer optional, with the arrival of this legislation.
We truly believe that accessibility shouldn’t be a choice for any website, not least because a website created in an accessible way is simple, easy to use and has no technical errors, meaning that it works well for everyone, not only people with disabilities.
